The Upskill Brand
How it started
​
Upskill training and mentorship program was founded in 2020. Taneikah’s passion is in dance teaching and mentorship. She has been teaching all ages and all ability levels for sixteen years and has operated The House of Sole for 15 years, including an inhouse teacher mentorship program. She is determined to make a difference in the quality and integrity of dance, choreography and dance teaching in our specific industry sector and is heavily investing in future ventures in this field to provide more access to ongoing professional development opportunities for established, rising and aspiring dancers, choreographers and teachers.

As a launch phase of this venture, she created ‘Upskill’ Dance Teacher Mentorship program that commenced in July 2020 through face-to-face and virtual delivery. A dance teacher, training, development and mentorship program in choreographic dance influenced by Hip Hop dance styles, other street dance and club dance styles. The uptake and response to the program from both participants and contributors has been incredible.

HOW IT EVOLVED
​Taneikah facilitates the Upskill program that is designed in collaboration with a highly respected, inspiring and expert faculty. The Upskill Training and Mentorship Program covers requisite skills, knowledge and insights into history, culture, music, dance styles and influences that underpins our industry and ideally informs our dance, creativity and teaching. Along with ethics, skills and techniques in teaching all ages and abilities, team development, freestyle and choreography, dance foundations and skills participants gain enhanced tools and practices in leadership, mindset, mentoring and industry, and focused competence in teaching to complement their dancing expertise.

In 2024 Upskill expands its branding and will be providing training and mentorship in dance, creativity and teaching in many formats such as 1 on 1, private groups and public programs both face to face and online including on tour around Australia and New Zealand.

Taneikah "T" Wescombe​
​
T is an Internationally renowned Choreographer, Tutor and mentor. She owned and directed multi award winning studio The House Of Sole for 15 years and currently facilitates Upskill training and mentorship programs and Upgrade Dance experience.
T has won 2 x Creative industry business awards and is the Choreographer of multi-award winning and internationally recognised dance crews Expialidopest, Checkmate, Genetik, Vivid, Carnage and SOLE FAM, best known as the 3 x international champions of Dancers Paradise Dance Competition, Cancun, Mexico.
Taneikah continues to travel the world teaching and sharing her craft in many different countries including Australia-Wide, New Zealand, Guam, Singapore, China, USA and Canada. Other credits include Judging multiple national and international dance competitions, Choreography for KPOP artists ‘Apple’ and ‘Monsta X’, Choreography for Australia’s Got Talent, awarded 2017 GTB Choreographer of the year and danced for artist ’50 CENT’ on the 2019 RNB FRIDAYS LIVE, Australian Tour.
T is recognised for the spirit and environment she creates in her dance spaces, along with her energetic, detailed and passionate teaching style. She is known for her unique flavour inspired by diverse influences, which peers describe as ‘like no other girl’. Taneikah’s number one passion is in teaching and mentorship, she aspires to continue to create more and more opportunities for dance artists and dance communities world wide.
